Project 52
What?
This is basically a continuation of Project 365, only with a far more relaxed schedule.
Although I've really enjoyed the 365, it's time to have days that I can look at the clock and go "whoops! bed time already!", without then first having to think of a subject and take a photo, process it, and upload it. Time to give myself a full week to pick a photo and upload it on Saturday each week.
Why another 'project'?
With the pressure of having to upload at least one photo per week, I don't leave room for myself to be lazy and either not take photos, or be too picky to upload one regularly.
Differences
Something else that will be different besides the number of photos per year, is the camera.
For the duration of the 365, I've taken nearly all photos with a Minolta DiMAGE Z1. After more than 6 years of use though, it was clear I needed a new camera. One with more options in shutter speed and aperture, but also with a non-damaged sensor and a completely working battery compartment door.
The camera I bought in April is a Nikon D5000, and I'll be shooting most (if not all) pictures for this new project 52 with it. The lens I'll be using most is the standard kitlens, a 18-55mm lens. I've also bought a cheap adapter that should enable me to use my very old 2nd hand Praktica lenses, but I haven't tried it out yet, so can't say yet if that will be any good. Time will tell :-)
